A beautiful star forming region 1,800 light years away.
An award-winning image which has been on display at the Royal Greenwich Observatory in London. At 1,800 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus the Swan, this huge mass of ionised gas and dust is a highly active star forming region. Imaged over many nights in the summer of 2014 with a range of filters to show the beautiful detail.
